The Kuklas • July 30, 2016

All the weddings I photograph are special in one way or another. This wedding, however, was EXTRA special because the bride is the sister of one of my very best friends since middle school. I have known the Kuklas for almost 20 years and they are an amazing, loving, wonderful family. When Angela and Shawn hired me to photograph their laid back, rustic wedding, I couldn't wait to spend the day celebrating with them - and their adorable daughter, Julia, who kiiiiind of stole the show :) The day was filled with thoughtful and unique touches, from craft beer as far as the eye could see and food trucks from Square Scullery and Swensons (drool alert) to Irish step dancers a bagpiper, and Papa Joe leading a conga line at the end of the night. Such a fun day for these two lovebirds!

I thought I had seen it all in 11 years of wedding photography.

But at this gorgeous laid-back lakeside wedding, Becca's dad brought her to the ceremony via sailboat. VIA SAILBOAT, YOU GUYS! And walked her up the dock and down the aisle. The ceremony was sweet and simple and ended with a literal tying of a knot. A beautiful setting, a breeze off Pymatuning Lake, and the most in-love, passionate couple ever made for such an amazing day. Congrats, Becca and Mike!

By the way, see that sailboat in the third to last row? A wedding gift from Becca's dad...! Ahoy! •

Venue: Pymatuning Century Club
